Missing: A $50,000 Inheritance
Lawrence Allen had been having a rough time in life – plagued with financial problems, he had finally become homeless and was living on the streets. Little did he know that his father, who he hadn’t seen since he was two years old, had passed away and left him a $50,000 inheritance.
Through our research process we determined that there was money owed to Lawrence as a beneficiary of his father’s estate. International Searchers then set to work locating Lawrence. We eventually were able to locate his mother. When we contacted her, she told us that she had taken Lawrence as a toddler and divorced his father. She gave us all of the information that she had – Lawrence was now living on the streets of either: Denver, Dallas or Albuquerque. She had no idea which one.
Searching all three cities, International Searchers found Mr. Allen – in person – on the streets of Albuquerque, New Mexico. We were able to fix any legal requirements, present him to court, and introduce him to his long-lost inheritance. Mr. Allen proceeded to use the money to get a new start in life – going to culinary school and becoming a pastry chef at a hotel on the West Coast.
Missing: An Oil & Gas Property Account
Isabel Eider was living in an assisted living facility on a fixed income. She had no idea that she was one of the missing heirs of a lost property inheritance.
We spent some time tracking down these rightful heirs. Upon contacting Ms. Eider, she exclaimed in disbelief, “How is this possible? We lived off sugar water and bread when I was a child!”.
How was this possible? Ms. Eider’s parents had acquired this property when she was very small. It didn’t turn out to be worth much at the time, and they probably forgot all about it – obviously staying busy trying to make ends meet for their young family. To complicate matters, both of her parents died intestate – without leaving any wills. Decades later, this property increased in value, but by then, the heirs had been lost. In fact, the property was about to be liquidated and lost forever. Before that could happen, International Searchers was able to step in and successfully reunite Ms. Eider with this legacy from her late parents.
